I’m going to make a bold claim and say that winter is actually the best time to hit Wales’ beaches and coastal towns. The chaos of summer slides away, parking becomes vaguely civilised, and the coastline suddenly feels like it’s reverted to its natural state.
Along with our glorious beaches, I love coastal market towns and fishing villages, even in the dead of winter. Especially destinations with independent shops, artsy vibes, and a bakery worth travelling for. Cardigan (Welsh Aberteifi) fits the bill perfectly.
