Prairie Farms is recalling over 300 gallons of fat-free milk after a federal investigation found it may contain cleaning agents.
The company was made aware of contamination in its Prairie Farms Gallon Fat Free Milk on Nov. 24, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The investigation was initiated “immediately” after and resulted in affected milk being removed from store shelves.
However, approximately 320 gallons of milk had already been sold before the issue was discovered.
The recall is specifically for the fat-free milk with timestamps indicating they were processed between 17:51 and 21:23, which correspond to 5:51 p.m. and 9:23 p.m. in a 12-hour format.
