The scheme comprises the Generation Assets of the Morecambe Offshore Windfarm, including fixed foundation wind turbine generators, inter-array cables, offshore substation platform(s) and possible platform link cables to connect offshore substations.

The application was submitted to the Planning Inspectorate for consideration by Morecambe Offshore Windfarm Ltd on 31 May 2024 and accepted for examination on 28 June 2024. 

Following an examination during which the public, statutory consultees and interested parties were given the opportunity to give evidence to the Examining Authority, recommendations were made to the Secretary of State on 23 July 2025.
