A Gladiators star has been left ‘heartbroken’ after the death of their ‘absolute hero’ dad just days after being involved in a major Strictly Come Dancing announcement.

Jodie Ounsley, who goes by Fury on the programme, is one of the BBC revival series most popular stars, recently featuring its live tour held in venues across the UK. The 24-year-old was first on the programme last year as one of the gladiators who take on members of the public in a series of challenges.

Prior to making her TV debut, Jodie was a professional rugby player who playedfor England sevens and the Chiefs. On top of this, she went on successful loan spells to both Loughborough Lightning and Sale Sharks.
