AUBURN — The Alex Golesh era is officially underway for Auburn football , as athletics director John Cohen announced Sunday, Nov. 30, that Golesh would be leaving his role as South Florida's head coach for the same position on the Plains.
Golesh, 41, comes in after three seasons with the Bulls , where he posted a 23-15 record, including a 9-3 campaign this fall.
He turned South Florida around in short order, logging three consecutive winning seasons after the Bulls posted four combined wins in the three years prior to Golesh's arrival. Auburn will need the same treatment from Golesh. As he steps into his first Power 4 head-coaching gig, Auburn is on the brink, with five consecutive losing seasons after a 5-7 record this fall.
On Monday, Auburn will get its first introduction
