As Michigan State Police on Monday said that alcohol may have been a factor in a fatal Thanksgiving Day crash in northern Macomb County, the mother of the little girl killed has made her first public comment.

Morgan Dushaj of Royal Oak continues to grieve over the loss of her five-year-old daughter who died in Thursday’s crash. On Monday, she shared her thoughts and extended thanks on social media to the hundreds of people who have donated to a fund.

“Getting the strength to post this was one of the hardest things I ever had to do (because) I can’t come to realization I will never hold my baby girl again,” Dushaj said in a Facebook post about her late daughter, known affectionately as “baby wee wee.”
