Paperhand Puppet Intervention creates larger-than-life outdoor puppet shows in North Carolina. When I think of puppets, I picture small marionettes, but these performers actually wear their puppets as costumes. This looks like such a fun, whimsical show to see in person. The puppets are crafted with incredible care and detail—the giant brown bear is my favorite.

When art and whimsy come together, magic is inevitable. What you're seeing is a snippet of a fairytale come to life, made possible by Paperhand Puppet Intervention in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. With characters inspired by forest fauna and European solstice traditions, 'The Bear and The Wild Things' depicts a sacred connection to nature through movement and masks alone.
