After a brief delay from a warm fall, the Brenton Skating Plaza in downtown Des Moines is now open for the season.
The first ice skaters will hit the rink when it opens at 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1. The open-air facility at 520 Robert D. Ray Drive is open seven days a week, weather dependent.
The rink closes if the temperature is under 5 degrees or the wind-chill is below zero. It's also closed on warm days of 60 degrees or higher.
What are Brenton Skating Plaza hours?
Regular hours are:
Monday–Thursday: 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Fridays: 5 p.m. – 11 p.m.
Saturdays: noon – 11 p.m.
Sundays: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
