RICHLAND PARISH, La. (KNOE) - Entergy Louisiana broke ground Monday morning on new facilities to meet growing energy demand as construction on Meta’s AI data center continues.
Entergy is building two combined-cycle combustion turbine generation facilities in Richland Parish. The Louisiana Public Service Commission approved the project in August.
According to Entergy, the two plants will add around 1,500 megawatts of natural gas generation capacity.
Entery said Meta will cover the cost of the plants over a 15-year agreement.
