YOANE WISSA has been left out of the DR Congo squad for the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
In a major boost to Newcastle United , Wissa has been on social media this evening to reveal that he is not part of the squad for the tournament in Morocco.
The striker is yet to make his Newcastle debut after suffering posterior cruciate ligament damage while on international duty in September.
Eddie Howe revealed earlier this morning that Wissa is due to take part in a behind-closed-doors training game this week, with the forward expected to be back in first-team action in the next few weeks.
Had he been part of the DR Congo squad for the Africa Cup of Nations, he would have been heading away for international in mid to late-December, with the tournament due to start just before Christmas
