FORT WORTH, Texas — Several blocks of Fort Worth's Near Southside were evacuated Monday after a gas leak, officials said.
The gas leak was reported around 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at the intersection of South Main Street and West Leuda Street, the Fort Worth Fire Department said in a social media post.
A construction crew unrelated to Atmos Energy damaged an Atmos-owned natural gas line near the affected intersection, officials said. Atmos Energy personnel are on the scene to make necessary repairs.
The area around the gas leak was evacuated while the leak was addressed, officials said. People within the evacuation area of Rosedale Street, Jennings Street, Pennsylvania Avenue and Crawford Street are asked to evacuate in an orderly fashion, the post states.
