A dad was able to see his son be born at an Arizona hospital not long after he got out of emergency surgery

An Arizona man nearly missed the birth of his son after falling ill hours before his wife went into labor — but he was still able to make it just in time.

Matt Sharp was rushed to HonorHealth Sonoran Hospital in Phoenix on Saturday, Nov. 1 and diagnosed with appendicitis, according to CBS affiliate KTVK . He was told he would need surgery to remove his appendix the same day.
