SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) -- This Tuesday at the Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Control & Adoption Center is their annual ‘Giving Tuesday’ donation event.

Western Mass News stopped by to our station charity, getting answers on how you can help the many animals at TJO.

‘Giving Tuesday’ is annually the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, and for dogs like Frosty at TJO animals, it is a chance at a new home.

We got a chance to speak with Heather Cahillane, Executive Director at TJO, who tells us, “He came into the shelter as a stray. He was found abandoned near a dumpster.”

Cahillane tells Western Mass News that many animals like Frosty rack up medical bills, because of how sick they are when they first arrive at the shelter.
