(KALB) - The Food Bank of Central Louisiana is back with the annual Christmas Cheer Food Drive for the holiday season!
Every year, the food bank and the local schools work together to collect food that goes directly to people in need in those communities.
During November, students were asked to bring non-perishable items and canned goods to their schools.
This week, the food bank will be visiting Natchitoches, Vernon, Grant, Avoyelles and Rapides Parishes to weigh the collected food.
$8,000 in prize money from the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe will be distributed to these schools for their outstanding efforts to help the Food Bank of Central Louisiana.
Come back each day to see the total pounds from each parish.
NATCHITOCHES PARISH:
Four schools brought in 2,175 total pounds of food!
