SUPERIOR TWP., MI — A man taken to the hospital by immigration enforcement last week had been Tased while running from agents, officials said.
Two federal agents in plain clothes and vests with their faces covered escorted someone from the emergency department at Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital around 12:30 p.m. Nov. 24. The agents, who were wearing vests identifying them as police, put the person into an unmarked vehicle before driving away.
The man was taken to the hospital after he was Tased during his arrest, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesperson told MLive/The Ann Arbor News. EMS personnel evaluated him for knee and arm pain before he was taken to the hospital, the spokesperson said. Medical staff at the hospital ultimately cleared him.
