Laurie Canter has been a part of plenty of significant milestones this year.
In March, he became the first former LIV player to compete in a PGA Tour event (non-major) when he qualified for the Players Championship via being top 50 in the Official World Golf Ranking by the cutoff date. Then last month, he became the first former LIV player to earn a PGA Tour card after serving a suspension, doing so via the DP World Tour's Race to Dubai ranking.
Canter won't be needing that PGA Tour card. He's now becoming the first player to re-sign with LIV Golf after previously leaving the league.
LIV Golf announced Canter was returning to the league on Monday, signing with the Majesticks, captained by Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood. He takes the spot of former co-captain Henrik Stenson, who was relegated from the league.
"Joining Majesticks GC is an incredible opportunity to be part of a team that has helped shape LIV Golf from day one,” Canter said in a release. "The league’s growth has been remarkable, and my experience in the league has led me to become a more complete player and a multiple winner on the DP World Tour. To return to the league with Majesticks GC is a huge honor, and they bring a standard of excellence, ambition and identity that really resonates with me. I can’t wait to get started and contribute to what this team is building."
He played for LIV Golf each of the league's first three seasons, first as a founding member of Cleeks GC in 2022, then as a reserve in 2023. He then competed in LIV Golf's first two events of 2024 in Mexico and Mayakoba before moving to play primarily a DP World Tour schedule last year.
Canter played well enough to earn a spot in the Players. When he teed it up at TPC Sawgrass, Canter became the first former LIV player to compete in a strictly PGA Tour event (non-major or non-co-sanctioned event). He missed the cut that week but went on to play all four majors in 2025, the Genesis Scottish Open and the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
Canter finished seventh in the Race to Dubai rankings, behind only Marco Penge as players who didn't have PGA Tour membership. While Penge is going to the PGA Tour, Canter, who's 60th in the OWGR, is going back to LIV Golf.
Canter is the second major LIV Golf signing of the offseason, joining Victor Perez.
