Cape May Powerball ticket hits $1 million as jackpot explodes to $719 million
Cape May, NJ – A lucky ticket sold at a Rio Grande supermarket turned a Cape May County Powerball player into a millionaire overnight, after matching all five white balls in Wednesday’s drawing — just one number shy of the $719 million jackpot.
The winning numbers drawn were 07, 08, 15, 19, and 28, with the Power Ball number 03 and a 3x multiplier. While the jackpot rolled over, a ticket purchased at Starns Village Super Market on Route 47 South scored a $1 million payday, according to the New Jersey Lottery.
The winner missed the red Power Ball by a single number — the only thing standing between them and the multi-state game’s massive top prize, which now swells to $719 million for Saturday’s drawing. T
