GALESBURG, Ill. (KWQC) - Fire crews opened the ceilings of a Galesburg home to fight an attic fire Monday morning.
At about 4:34 a.m., crews came to the 100 block of Sumner Street for a fire, according to a news release.
When crews arrived, officials said they found smoke inside a two-story home.
Officials said crews had to open the ceilings of the home’s second floor to extinguish a fire in the attic.
No injuries were reported. Officials said residents and their pets escaped before crews arrived.
The fire is being investigated.
