Celebrated actress Judi Dench says she can no longer see.

The 90-year-old Academy Award and Tony Award winner has battled macular degeneration for years and was first diagnosed with her condition in 2012.

Dench says she cannot watch television and cannot read.

She also has trouble recognizing people.

Dench explained that her eye condition is why she has stepped away from performing.
