Six Greater Manchester motorways are due to be closed overnight in the week starting Monday, December 1, 2025.
National Highways, the organisation which manages the country’s major A-roads and motorways, have confirmed there will be overnight closures on the M6, M56, M60 , M61, M62 , and M66 this week. Most are to allow maintenance works to go ahead.
Motorists are urged to plan ahead with the closures as Christmas traffic means Manchester city centre will be busier than usual, especially at the weekend when Co-op Live hosts three concerts, including Ed Sheeran and Jamiroquai, and the AO Arena hosts Pete Tong and Madness.
