It's already looking thoroughly festive in Newcastle and now a new Winter Wonderland is about to offer families another magical experience. Following on from the launch of seasonal treats from Christmas Markets to panto season comes the eagerly-awaited return of a family favourite to Newcastle 's Utilita Arena.

The Winter Wonderland, hosted by The Big Wish Ltd, initially took place at Newcastle Racecourse before its switch of home to outside the arena where it will open this week with a packed programme of attractions. Visitors can expect an array of attractions including festive stalls, a funfair and an ice rink.

Santa Claus himself will be making appearances too. The event is hosted on land
