KINGSTON — Queen’s University and the City of Kingston are working on a land swap for properties around the steam plant on King Street East.
The proposed swap comes two years after the city purchased land from the federal government along the south side of King Street.

“This land exchange will not only resolve existing title and ownership issues, but will also ensure that each party maintains clear control over the appropriate lands and related infrastructure,” stated a report to council.
“The lands, which are presently leased to Queen’s from the City, will be in Queen’s ownership once the land swap is completed save and except the portion retained for improvements to the waterfront pathway.”
