MUNCIE, IN — A Muncie man has been accused of striking a female acquaintance in the head with the handle of a knife.

A city police officer reported the 20-year-old woman was left with a "severe laceration to the right side of her head." She was treated in the emergency department of IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
