PHILADELPHIA − If history is a guide, the Eagles could decide to take play-calling duties away from offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo this week, especially because the Eagles don't play again until Dec. 8.

While Eagles coach Nick Sirianni and the players have backed Patullo, the results haven't been close to what they have expected this season. That's despite the Eagles' 8-4 record and first-place standing in the NFC East.

That was evident after the Eagles' 24-15 loss to the Chicago Bears on Nov. 28. Patullo has drawn the ire of fans, who chanted "Fire Kevin!" during the game in which the Eagles had just 83 yards and two first downs in the first half. Buy Philadelphia Eagles tickets
