LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - In the wake of our first significant snowfall of the season, it’s safe to say winter has officially arrived in Mid-Michigan.

That means we’ll be seeing more snow plows out on the roads in the months ahead. And here in Michigan, all of the state’s plows that take care of our freeways and state roads have their own special names.

Many of the names are Michigan-themed puns like Yooper Scooper, Ford Field Flurry Fighter and Kid Rock Salt. Others are movie-related, like Austin Plowers, Frostin’ Powers, Blizzard of Oz and Snowba Fett.
