Mary “Lynn” Komber, a former food service manager who raised special needs golden retrievers, died of a brain bleed Oct. 24. The 70-year-old former Baltimore resident was living in Lewes, Delaware.
She was stricken while playing pickleball, one of her favorite activities.
Family members said that hours after her death it was discovered that she was a possible match for a kidney for her wife, Priscilla Isear, who had been on a transplant list.
“After a battery of tests it was determined that she was a perfect match,” said Ms. Komber’s sister, Patricia Shields Davis. “The day after Lynn died her kidney was transplanted into her wife.”
