WEST JORDAN — A man was hit and killed trying to cross the street Monday morning in West Jordan. A car hit him near 9300 S. Redwood Road, during the busy morning commute. It’s prompting a safety warning from police.
The area was the man was hit has no crosswalk, traffic is busy, and when you add how dark it was at the time – it’s a deadly combination.
Police tell KSL they got the call for the crash around 6:45 a.m., before the sun was up.
Police said a man in his late 40’s or early 50’s was trying to cross the road from the west side of the street. They said one car in the middle lane quickly stopped for the man, but another car apparently didn’t see him and hit him. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but later died.
