Erie County Executive Brenton Davis has vetoed more than $1 million in the 2026 budget for programs serving minority communities, young people and residents facing discrimination.

In total, Davis vetoed 21 amendments that Erie County Council approved in the adopted 2026 budget . Among the vetoes were funding for Erie's Black Wall Street , Diverse Erie , the Summer Jobs program for youth, the Booker T. Washington Center , the Martin Luther King Center and the Urban Erie Community Development Center .
