Samsung has announced the Galaxy Z TriFold , a smartphone that folds twice to create a huge 10-inch display. The device launches December 12 in Korea and will expand to markets including China, Taiwan, Singapore, the UAE and the United States. Unfortunately for Canadian Samsung fans, Canada is not part of the first rollout.
While Apple has yet to release its first foldable iPhone, Samsung is moving ahead with a trifold design aimed at users who want a portable device that can act like a small tablet. When fully opened, the Galaxy Z TriFold’s 10-inch screen provides space for multitasking, document work and video viewing. The phone folds inward in two places, and the display is reinforced with new materials to handle the dual-hinge layout.
The device is 3.9 mm thick at its thinnest point
