There is still no trial date for suspended Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez, as he is now the only arrested co-conspirator from the investigation into an illegal Central Florida gambling operation who has not taken a plea deal.
Lopez’s defense attorney Mary Ibrahim and statewide prosecutor Panagiota Papakos appeared at a brief virtual hearing before Lake County Judge Brian Welke on Tuesday afternoon.
Ibrahim told the judge the Lopez defense team is still having issues obtaining all the state’s evidence from the multi-agency investigation.
She said she wants the statewide prosecutors to copy everything from their 14 discovery disclosures onto her hard drives, including body-worn camera videos, phone extractions, and documents like search warrants.
