CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) -A showdown in federal court between Michael Jordan’s racing team and NASCAR continued on Tuesday.
Team 23XI and Front Row Motorsports are taking on the racing giant and challenging NASCAR’s charter system, calling it a monopoly that locks out fair competition.
For the entire morning, NASCAR driver and 23XI Team co-owner Denny Hamlin testified.
A large portion of Tuesday was spent cross-examining Hamlin and discussing why the race team is suing NASCAR.
Hamlin said it was the “only decision” to bring the lawsuit. He testified after decades of racing and now owning a team, it’s time for a change in the sport.
Hamlin repeatedly called NASCAR a monopoly on the stand.
A lot of the tense cross-examination was focused on Hamlin’s previous comments publicly about NASCA
