RadioSisQ received a $50,000 grant from the Community Foundation of the North State to support the coalition of 12 new low-power FM radio licensees located in or serving Siskiyou County.

The grant from the North State Wildfire Recovery Fund will be used to purchase equipment needed to begin broadcast for selected coalition stations, according to an announcement from the Siskiyou Media Council and Siskiyou County Arts Council.

Launched in 2023, RadioSisQ's mission is to respond to communication challenges during emergency events such as media outlet accessibility, cellular and internet network coverage, power utility reliability and local control of public emergency communication information, the announcement said.
