ROCKY MOUNT, Va. (WDBJ) - Multiple dead vultures were found Tuesday, December 2, according to Rocky Mount officials.

Numerous state and local agencies including Rocky Mount Police and Fire, Franklin County Public Safety, Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) and Virginia Department of Health (VDH) are on location at a wooded lot on the corner of Dent Street and Franklin Street (Route 40) due to the discovery of numerous dead vultures in a creek bed onsite. A DWR biologist is in route to assess the deceased birds and determine cause of death. Caution tape has been added around the impacted lot.
