Sonny Gray gets candid about his time with the New York Yankees
Sonny Gray recently waived his no-trade clause in order to be traded from the St. Louis Cardinals to the Boston Red Sox . Despite posting solid numbers over two seasons in St. Louis, at age 36, Gray just didn't fit their rebuilding timeline.
In two seasons with the Cardinals, Gray earned 27 wins with a 4.07 ERA. Last year Gray reached a career high 5.29 SO/BB ratio.
Now, embracing his new team and his role as a member of the Red Sox, Gray opened up about his time with their biggest rival, the New York Yankees . When speaking to the media, he had this to say about his stint in the Bronx: “I never wanted to go there in the first place.”
