Alberta is introducing a motion under the province’s sovereignty legislation to fight the federal government’s gun buyback program.
Justice Minister Mickey Amery’s motion under the Sovereignty Act instructs all provincial entities, including municipalities and law enforcement agencies, to defy the federal gun buyback program and issues guidelines to the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service to not prosecute individual homeowners for defending themselves in their homes.
