When Lane Kiffin boarded the private jet to make his way to Baton Rouge on Sunday, Ole Miss offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. was one of the staffers on board.
Weis followed Kiffin to Louisiana to take over the offensive coordinator position on the LSU Tigers' 2026 staff. The 32-year-old OC will still take over that position in the future, but Kiffin and LSU are allowing him to return to Oxford for the Rebels' upcoming College Football Playoff run.
Kiffin released an official statement regarding the decision on Tuesday, saying he hopes this move will help Ole Miss get the highest possible position in the final College Football Playoff rankings.
