Marshall football wants 'Bama.

The Thundering Herd announced on Tuesday that it has added a Sept. 4, 2027 matchup with Alabama to its future schedule.

The Herd will travel to Bryant-Denny Stadium to continue a trend of meeting powerful nonconference opponents. Marshall faced Georgia in its 2025 opener to open Tony Gibson's head-coaching career. The Herd is slated to open with Penn State in 2026 before it will head down to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the following season.
