HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - Gov. Ned Lamont made another pitch to Connecticut town leaders Tuesday for revised housing legislation aimed at addressing the state’s housing shortage, but winning over all municipal officials remains a struggle.

Lamont spoke to a large group of town leaders at the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities, continuing his efforts to build support for legislation passed during a special session.

“How can we work together to make the state your partner,” Lamont said. “I think we came to a pretty good place that can make a difference for communities.”

Town leaders offered different perspectives on the housing legislation.

“Is it perfect? No. but it’s much better than what it was,” said First Selectman Michael Freda of North Haven.
