BBC star Amanda Mealing has revealed she was rushed to the hospital earlier this week after she suddenly lost her vision in one eye. Sharing the horror ordeal with her loyal legion of fans online, the Holby City star took to Instagram to share a snap of her eyes, one of which looked drastically different from the other. She captioned the black and white snap: "#StartTheWeek I'd suddenly lost vision in one eye, so went to the hospital yesterday morning (December 1)

"By lunchtime I was on the operating table having my retina re-attached, repairs to torn parts and... a gas bubble inserted (who knew?!) Now I must spend a week prone, face first *used to be familiar!) And THAT was just Monday [cry-laughing emoji]."
