The preliminary hearing for Pittston Area Superintendent Kevin Booth, who was arraigned on allegations that he strangled his wife, has been continued.

Booth, 55, of Pittston, appeared in Luzerne County Central Court on Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge Carol Davenport.

Attorney Kurt Thomas Lynott, representing Booth, and assistant district attorney Julian F. Truskowski agreed to continue the hearing for three months.

Booth was arraigned on a misdemeanor charge of simple assault and a summary offense of harassment on Oct. 6.

According to the police report, Jessica Booth told officers her husband, Kevin, “tossed me around a bit” and “choked” her. Police say Jessica Booth had redness on her neck. Kevin Booth denied the allegations.
