A Vancouver man accused of striking a pedestrian, before driving home and apparently going to bed, allegedly told investigators he had been drinking vodka in the hours leading up to the crash, according to court records.

Michael Rhynehardt, 43, appeared Monday in Clark County Superior Court on allegations of felony hit-and-run, driving under the influence and vehicular assault.

Judge Christine Hayes ordered Rhynehardt be held on $200,000 bail. If released, he is to abstain from alcohol use and other substances, have no contact with the victim, and complete urinalysis testing.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday.

Rhynehardt was arrested after a Nov. 26 hit-and-run crash in the 3300 block of East 18th Street, according to a Vancouver Police Department news release.
