John Hufnagel is leaving behind his Red and White tenure for a Double Blue future, say multiple reports Tuesday afternoon.

Word is the longtime staple of the Calgary Stampeders — as QB, GM, head coach and president-turned-consultant — has joined the Toronto Argonauts in a senior advisory role.

The Stampeders are not confirming the loss of Hufnagel, despite an initial social media post speculating the move by TSN’s Dave Naylor and follow-up confirmation from sources to 3DownNation.

Hufnagel, 74, has been with the Stamps since 2007, most notably as head coach from ’08-15 and president from ’16-23. Three years ago, he stepped away from everyday duties to become a football operations consultant for the CFL club and has been a special advisor for the team the last two seasons.
