WINTERPORT, Maine (WABI) -Whether you’ve gotten your Christmas tree for the season or not, one Winterport family wants to invite you to a place where community is the true gift of the season.

Julia Kearns grew up in Winterport and her husband Sean Kearns was raised in Hampden, just a town over.

One thing they have a passion for besides their love for each other is the essence of community.

Which led to a very important conversation the two had eight years ago.

Julia was a middle school teacher for 33 years.

Sean retired two years ago after 36 years in the Navy and they discussed what they wanted to do next in their lives.

“We thought of tree farming planting maybe a few trees, let’s start with 12,” said Julia.

However Sean had a different understanding of just a few and brought home
