LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Zephyr, the puppy that was found severely malnourished in a field near Nebraska City in late September, has found her forever home.
The Capital Humane Society (CHS) announced Tuesday that its Executive Director Matt Madcharo and his family officially adopted Zephyr.
Madcharo’s family took Zephyr in shortly after she was found on the brink of death due to the lack of nutrition and starvation. She weighed just 12 pounds when she was about nine months old.
In October , Madcharo told 10/11 that it has been amazing seeing Zephyr’s progress, including taking her on a trip to Arkansas for hiking.
“He couldn’t resist Zephyr’s charm, and she has settled into his home like she’s lived there forever,” CHS wrote in a Facebook post Tuesday. “She loves snuggles, cuddles, and
