SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The South Bend Police Department is welcoming nine new members to the force.
The new police officers were sworn in at Tuesday morning’s board of public safety meeting.
Probationary Officer Brandon Krugler said he has wanted to be a police officer since childhood.
“I’ve always thought about it since being a kid. I just thought that wearing the badge was a good idea as it grew, seeing the good and bad side of the community. I just thought I could help,” Krugler said.
Krugler said he is excited to get out on the streets and serve the community.
