DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - A major snow removal effort is happening Tuesday night in parts of the city.
To get snow removed from the streets in the downtown and in the Hilltop Campus Village, Davenport city leaders said they need as many vehicles as possible moved off the streets Tuesday night from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Vehicles that are parked on the street are likely to be ticketed or towed due to the volume of snow being removed Tuesday night, city leaders said.
All three city parking ramps will be free to park in starting at 5 p.m. Tuesday night through 8 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
City leaders said what helps most is:
Moving vehicles off posted snow routes and out of on-street parking
Reminding tenants and residents, customers and neighbors to use the free ramps
