BUFFALO, N.Y. — A business owner in Buffalo is opening her doors to help the family affected by the tragic fire on French Street that killed two children and injured several others.
Marielyn “Mari” Santiago-Miller, co-owner of Salud Market , says the store has been part of the community since 2022. She decided to turn her shop into a donation site after learning her friends, the Green family, live on French Street just a couple of doors down from where the fire happened.
Santiago-Miller wanted to provide the community with a place to donate. She started a collection effort at her business on Main Street. “Let me help out and have my space as a donation site,” she said.
For Santiago-Miller, the decision is rooted in her belief in serving others.
