SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Get ready for a cold night across the ArkLaTex. With a clear sky and light winds, temperatures will plummet below freezing across the entire region. Most areas will be in the upper 20s to near 30 by early Wednesday morning.

We start with sunshine Wednesday morning but clouds will quickly increase during the afternoon as the next system approaches. Temperatures will turn milder thanks to a south breeze with highs in the mid 50s.

The next round of rain will quickly arrive from the southwest Wednesday night and then periods of rain could continue through Thursday night. Right now, it looks like most of the rain associated with this next system will stay along and south of I-20. Temperatures will turn chilly again with highs in the upper 40s and low 50s.
