Two people have filed lawsuits against Litchfield town officials regarding allegations related to sexual abuse that they say were never addressed.

John Fitterer and Dan Bird, who were both young boys when the alleged abuse took place, said the abuse was committed by Litchfield Middle School swimming and cross county coach David Driscoll.

Both men allege that staff at the middle school failed to act despite receiving a complaint in the 1980s - which was filed years before the men met Driscoll, according to the lawsuit.

The men's' lawyer said Driscoll sexually abused young students, and they allege that school officials encouraged and allowed him to continue coaching young boys despite having received prior complaint
