WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Louisiana Delta Community College is taking steps to close the growing workforce gap in Northeast Louisiana with the expansion of its diesel technology program.
A new, larger diesel shop officially opened today on the college’s West Monroe campus, offering students more space and opportunities for hands-on training.
Lead instructor Rock Frost said the expansion allows students to work on more projects simultaneously, improving their chances of securing jobs after graduation.
Frost says with the building’s expansion students will get more hands-on work. “When we were in the smaller building, you could only get four or five jobs there. But when you have 30 or 40 students, it’s hard to put 10 students on one job. So with this big expansion, we can get more work in
